I announced last weekend that the Black Bean (my Honda) was found. It was a hard decision to keep it but I knew I could get it back on the road. Monday I had it checked by the mechanic and there was no hidden damage so I headed off to the salvage yard to find the parts I needed. It turns out there was a reason the thieves took my turn signal and rear view mirror. I couldn't find a Honda civic in the whole yard that had turn signals or rear view mirror. I don't mean a 92 Honda Civic. I mean ANY Honda civic. That was frustrating but I got my window replaced while I was looking so it wasn't all bad. I went home and found the parts on Ebay for cheap. Gotta love the internet. So last night I installed the turn signals with no problem. Replaced the fuses and they were all good. Then I decided to take off the base of the old rear view mirror. Bad idea. I chipped a piece of the windshield off with it. I was pretty disappointed with that move. But I taped it up and drove it on the freeway for a couple of exits and it looked OK. So mounted the new mirror and this morning I drove it to work. Black Bean is back on the road.
Speaking of work, it has been a weekend full of it. Pretty easy festival with a day before load in since today doors were at 11 am. The surprise of the day for me was the band Heads of State. That's just another name for Bell Biv Devoe. Same guys 2o+ years later. They even did some of their New Edition stuff. The audience loved it. Check out the video.
Unfortunately that was the highlight of the day for me. I am looking forward to loading out and getting out of here. Tomorrow having a block party with good food, good drinks, and good friends.
